Restriction Manager for Confluence
Edit restrictions that follow the page tree, and an audit that finds and fixes the gaps.
Confluence passes view restrictions down to child pages, but not edit restrictions. Restriction Manager does. Switch it on for a space, and new, moved and copied pages get their parent page's edit restrictions automatically. The restriction audit finds pages anyone can edit under a locked-down parent, and fixes them in one click.
Edit restrictions that follow the tree
Switch inheritance on once per space. Pages created, moved or copied under a restricted page, and the pages below them, get its edit restrictions, usually within a minute. Copy the parent's restrictions exactly, or add them to the page's own.
Find the gaps and fix them in one click
The restriction audit lists the pages where restrictions start or differ from their parent, with who can view and edit each one, and flags pages anyone can edit while their parent is locked down. Fix one page, or all of them at once.
Bulk changes, with a record of every change
Copy or remove edit restrictions across a whole page tree, apply the rule to existing pages, and see every change the app made in the activity log.
Safe by design
- Inheritance only ever tightens access: a parent with no edit restrictions never removes its children's, and a new page keeps restrictions its author set.
- The app never reveals a page: it checks that every new editor can already view a page.
- Only space admins can change settings, run bulk actions or see audit results.
- It runs entirely on Atlassian, never reads page content, and sends no data outside Atlassian.
